July’s Birthstone – Ruby

July’s birthstone is the RUBY, a gemstone that varies from pink to dark red. The name Ruby is from “ruber”, which is Latin for red.  Along with sapphire, emeralds, and diamonds, the ruby is considered one of the four precious stones. Furthermore, The 4 c’s (cut, color, clarity, and carat) will determine the ruby’s value and quality. In fact, Burma is known for and has mined their rubies for centuries. However, miners have uncovered rubies in countries like Cambodia, India, and Australia; to name a few. Additionally, the ruby known as the Pigeon Blood or Blood Red are the most valuable and the Sunrise Ruby is said to be the most expensive of them all.
